January has passed; February is now here - and maybe those resolutions you made last month are starting to look a bit less shiny and new and a bit more “do I have to?” There’s no question that sticking with a fitness resolution can be tough as the year gets going and life gets busier. But worry not - we’ve come up with some tips that are sure to help get you excited about your fitness routine once again.

Keep reading to learn about our top three tips for staying on track and in shape this February and beyond.

Mix up your mixtape.

Exercise can sometimes seem repetitive - after all, the specific body movements you’re doing are called “reps”! But your music shouldn’t be. Try creating a new workout playlist to see if that injects some new energy into your routine. You can fill up the playlist with brand-new tracks from your favorite artists or shamelessly enjoy throwback hits and the music you loved in high school. As long as it gets you moving, it’s all good!

Find an exercise buddy.

Chances are, you’re not the only one of your friends who’s feeling a bit stuck in a fitness rut. Ask around and find an exercise partner. Even if it’s not safe to go back to the gym, you can set up your phone to do a video chat or internet call so you can socialize while you work out. Having a partner will keep you accountable, and having a chance to catch up while staying active is enjoyable all on its own.

Try out new workouts.

If you’re not “feeling the burn” in your exercise routine, that might be a sign that it’s time to start a new one. Research different ways to exercise your muscles or creative exercises to do using the equipment you already have. You might also want to consider signing up for a virtual class, as plenty of yoga, dance, and cycling classes are happening online these days.

These are just a few ways to keep your exercise routine going strong through the February blahs - there are many more out there! And of course, if you have questions about exercise equipment or think it’s time to upgrade your home gym, the experts at Fitness Master are here to help. We’d love to help you get moving and stay moving through February and beyond. Contact us today to get started!
